I did have issues with something getting into the gears, you can hear it clicking. Id recommend when you receive yours to open it up and make sure there is nothing in there from the start. I have not figured out how anything would get in there, it appears to be sealed up well. The transmitter is comfy, and works great, it has throttle and steering trim, the truck is easy to drive, and doesn't feel notchy in control at all, very predictable. I was a little concerned with the play in the steering, but once your driving you cant tell.
