Window cleaners rescued after gantry collapse in Sydney CBD

Two men have been rescued after a window cleaning gantry failed on the corner of Bridge St and Pitt St in Sydney's CBD. The gantry failed and fell some 10 storeys. One man was rescued after he was supported a few metres from the ground in his harness, whilst the other man was treated on an awning suffering fractured lower limbs. Specialist emergency teams responded to the dramatic incident which was watched by hundreds of office workers. Both men are understood to be in a stable condition and are lucky to be alive. The incident is being investigated by Workcover and NSW Police.
