why study the french language? // my trip to france

Thanks to my family, my school and Minthy's family I have be able to have a trip of a life time. This week traveling to France, (Mulhouse, Strasbourg and Paris), Germany and Switzerland has taught and inspired me so much. It was a dream come true for me to practice my french and see so much of Europe. I am so thankful for this opportunity and anxious to return someday. ❤ Grâce à ma famille, à ma école et à la famille de Minthy j'ai fait le voyage de ma vie. C'était comme un rêve qui est devenu une réalité ce qui pour moi m'a permis de pratiquer mon français et de voir beaucoup d'Europe. As a 2017 senior in high school I was in an AP French class, my fifth year taking a french class. My high school has an exchange program where last year a french student (Minthy!) came to stay at my house for a week in the spring and then the following year I would go to France to stay with her. The trip, as you can probably tell, was absolutely incredible. I was totally immersed in a different culture, had the opportunity to see so many iconic landmarks in Paris, made and strengthened a lot of friendships and overall just had an amazing time. I'm not going to lie, french class was and still is HARD for me. I think everyone who tries learning a new language for the first time can easily get so overwhelmed. But if you are like me, and had the dream since you were 5 and first saw Beauty and the Beat, then you will POWER THROUGH AND GO TO FRANCE (or wherever your dream location is). Learning a different language can give you so many new opportunities like this one I had. I encourage anyone reading this to study a new language and it doesn't have to be french either (spanish, mandrain, italian, the possibilities are endless)! Okay, that is enough preaching for me!!
