The Koumi Line is a local railway line managed by East Japan Railway Company, connecting between Kobuchizawa station, deviding from the Chuo East line, Yamanashi pref. and Komoro station, deviding from the Shinano Railway line, or the old Shin-etsu Line, Nagano pref. It's well known as the railway that passes at the highest place in Japan. The highest point is 1,375m high over the sea level, at Nobeyama. The landscapes seen from the Koumi line trains are also well known to be beautiful with Mt. Yatsugatake and peaceful farm area at its foothills. This movie was filmed in June of 2003 by a temporary rapid service "Yappy Yatsugatake" from Kobuchizawa to Nakagomi, and by another local train for the left section, from Nakagomi to Komoro. We would like you to enjoy that beautiful view of the Koumi line in the early summer green.
