Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
-2-3 lbs stew beef
-Season to your tastes (I use garlic salt and McCormick rotisserie seasoning in basically everything lately lol)
-1 packet Onion soup mix
-1/3 cup of beef broth (or water is also fine)
- one large onion
- 2 cups chopped mushrooms
-1/3 cup heavy cream
-1 packet mushroom gravy
Mix your stew beef, seasonings, onion soup packet, and beer broth in your slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours (or until meat is tender and falling apart slightly).
Once the meat is done cook your diced onions and mushrooms in a separate pan on medium until they are golden brown and cooked through. (If you prefer not to cook your mushrooms and onions separately you can throw them in the slow cooker for the last hour of cooking).
After you add in your cooked onions and mushrooms you will also add the heavy cream and mushroom gravy packet. Stir everything together and turn your slow cooker up to high for 30 minutes. During this time you can make whatever you will be serving your beef stroganoff with. After 30 minutes it should be done and delicious!!
If you want the gravy to be thicker you can always add a slurry of 1 teaspoon corn starch and water to your preferred thickness.
