The series continues with 2014 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year and current Chicago Bull, Doug McDermott. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the invention of the game of basketball. The first basketball game took place at the YMCA in Springfield, MA, on December 21, 1891, when Dr. James Naismith attached peach baskets to a gym balcony and gave his students a soccer-style ball as a way to keep them active during the cold winter months. Although the game has changed over the years, the basic rules from 125 years ago remain the same.
