We Have No King But Herod

Saint Vincent Ferrer says that when the people of Jerusalem heard the three kings asking about a new born King of the Jews, they responded, "We have no king but Herod." Does this not make sense given what the same people would later say, "We have no king but Caesar"? This very worldly mentality is very much alive today such that few on earth would ever recognize the only true and universal king is Christ Jesus. Without Christ being his king, man lives in fear, suspicion, instability and death.
