US president Donald Trump delivers an election-year State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. For 80-minutes, the US president touted the health of the US economy and focused on key election issues like trade, healthcare and immigration. Tensions between Donald Trump and Nancy Pelosi were also on full display. The president snubbed a handshake with the top Democrat and she ripped up a copy of his speech. When asked why she did it, Pelosi responded "it was the courteous thing compared to the alternative."
