Voucher Babies in Kenya - Output Based Aid

Reaching the Millennium Development Goals requires drastic changes and innovative approaches in health care delivery and financing. The presented project Vouchers for Health is a promising strategy to achieve better results in health services delivery. In 2006, the Kenyan government launched Vouchers for Health for three year pilot targeting economically disadvantaged women in three rural districts and two urban slum areas. The program provides access to safe deliveries, family planning and gender violence recovery services. The initial 3-year budget is 6.5 million Euros.
