#May22nd Backing a voice for #Yorkshire within the UK & EU for Yorkshire and the Humber. http://www.yorkshirefirst.org.uk/ Putting Yorkshire First Yorkshire has a larger population than Scotland and an economy twice the size of Wales, but with the powers of neither. We support the devolving of powers to the least centralised authority capable of addressing those matters effectively -- within Yorkshire, the United Kingdom and Europe. We are a new party that wants to put Yorkshire First. The Region should come before party interest every time. Issues and possible solutions should be judged on its benefit to Yorkshire, it's folk, environment and economy. Neither Left nor Right, put Yorkshire First. Yorkshire Parliament -- Yes; Independence -- No Where is the voice for Yorkshire? We have 22 councils but no unified voice. We have LEPs, City Regions, but little say on matters that affect the region. When Yorkshire speaks with one voice we can win. Welcome to Yorkshire being a great example. But where else? The only place where Yorkshire votes as a region are the upcoming European Parliament elections. There is nowhere else. This is an opportunity to send a message -- a voice for Yorkshire in Europe that says loud and clear Local & Regional government first, National & European where necessary and beneficial Yorkshire before party politics The elections are about who we want to represent our interests in the European Parliament. We believe Yorkshire needs a Party that puts the region first. The whole region. Who is putting Yorkshire first? We shall. Lend us your vote -- Vote Yorkshire First in the European Election To demonstrate that things can be different and our commitment to the battle for a voice for Yorkshire we do not just aim to abide by the Bell principles, we propose to donate some of the salary to support and help to fund the fight for a Yorkshire Parliament. As Yorkshire First has no state funding nor money from vested interests our elected representatives will donate everything over the median salary in Yorkshire (around £22,000 gross) to help further the aim of devolution. We think this will keep the representatives more grounded. It will last for the duration of the next EU parliament.
