Vienna Robotics Introduces The Amazing TubBot (Food Factor FLL)

Vienna Robotics is proud to present the Amazing TubBot. TubBot was designed for the 2011 Food Factor FLL season. TubBot has a built in tub for catching the bacteria and viruses from the bacteria dispensers and a forklift that is used for the many missions that require lifting. TubBot is equipped with two light sensors which are used to follow lines and square TubBot perpendicular to lines. We introduce some of the advanced software methods our team used such as our line follower and our MoveAndFork MyBlocks. We also introduce the use of Master Programs. We made this video to be informative and with hopes of inspiring teams that are just getting going. Each year our team has built on what we learned during previous seasons. Last season was the first year we incorporated light sensors on our robot. This year we improved our line follower algorithm so it doesn't "zig-zag" at powers up to about 50. We also added a very effective line-search algorithm just before we commence line following. This avoids a problem where the first correction of the line follower causes the robot to steer forever away from the line because the sensor was just a little bit on the wrong side o f the line..
