USA Employee Free Choice Act - UNI global union video

The fight for the passage of the US Employee Free Choice Act is a major concern for workers around the world who have felt the effects of the anti-union policies pushed by US-multinationals. When the bill is passed into law it will usher in a new era for US and global labour policies. The US big-business lobby has pulled out all the stops in its campaign to defeat this legislation and deny American workers the right to unionise: a right that so many of us depend on around the world. The US is at the bottom of all the worlds democracies when it comes to labour rights. Our US brothers and sisters are fighting for their rights and their livelihoods and they need our support. That is why June is the Global Action Month in support of the US Employee Free Choice Act. The global union movement, led by the International Trade Union Confederation and national union centres are organising US embassy visits in scores of countries to send a clear message of support to President Obama, who has publicly supported this vital legislation. Embassy visits planned by UNI affiliates kicked off in May in Argentina and Japan. UNI is calling on you to make an embassy visit with other unions in your country organised by your trade union centre.
