US-China trade talks set to resume in Beijing this week

It is a critical week for the U.S.-China trade talks. Lower level U.S. trade negotiators have arrived in Beijing to continue the trade talks ahead of higher level officials joining later in the week. American officials are looking to get the Chinese to concede on several issues important to the United States. Some investors are also paying attention to the consumer data from the China Lunar New Year that suggest that Chinese consumer confidence is low.
