Unboxing and Rooting Kindle Paperwhite 3 (EU version)

In this video, I'll show how to jailbreak the EU version of Kindle Paperwhite 3 with firmware 5.8.11 The procedure is following: - Switch to Airplane mode immediately so that an update does not occur - Downgrade to firmware by putting "update_pw3_factory_5.8.9.0.1.bin" in the root directory (it's really /mnt/us directory, but you don't have a direct access to its filesystem yet), and clicking Settings → Menu → Update your Kindle - Install jailbreak from "kindle-jb-factory-1.2" (you extract the "main-htmlviewer.tar.gz" file into the Kindle's root directory, then type ";installHtml" into the search bar and click Enter) - Install hotfix by putting "Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.14_nomax_install.bin" in the root directory, and clicking Settings → Menu → Update your Kindle - Install KUAL by putting "KUAL-KDK-2.0.azw2" into the "documents" directory - Install MobileReads Package Installer by unpacking "kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N" into the root directory - Safety precaution: Create a directory named "update.bin.tmp.partial" in the root directory, this should prevent the kindle from auto-updating.
