Ukraine: McCain tells Kiev's protesters "I am with you"

U.S. Senator John McCain addressed around 200,000 anti-government protesters gathered in Independence square (Maidan) in Kiev on Sunday during the opposition-organised rally. "People of Ukraine, this is your moment; this is about you, no-one else. This is about the future you want for your country, this is about the future you deserve. The future in Europe, future of peace, good relations with all of your neighbours. The free world is with you, America is with you, I am with you", McCain said. McCain is visiting Kiev with US Senator Chris Murphy. Yesterday, during a meeting with Ukraine's opposition, the US was encouraged to impose sanctions following the suspension of the association agreement with the EU.
