In this short video we go over how to enable and disable the new gnome 3.32 fractional UI scaling feature in display settings on Ubuntu 19.04 Disco Dingo.
We go over two method to do this. The first is to use dconf editor to do it graphically and the second method is on the command line using gsettings.
The fractional UI scaling feature is experimental in gnome 3.32 and can be enabled for both Wayland and X11.
Before the release of gnome 3.32 which is included in Ubuntu 19.04 the only options in the display setting for scaling were very coarse and limited to 2x and 3x scaling. But with fractional UI scaling you now have a more granular set of choices for you HiDPI display.
