Turkey began its offensive into northern Syria, dubbed 'Operation Peace Spring' on Wednesday, with the launch of airstrikes on several locations in northern Syria along the Turkish border. According to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) press office, a total of eight people were killed and 20 others were injured during the strikes in northern Syria. Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of the operation to create a 'safe zone' cleared of US-backed Kurdish groups, which Ankara labels 'terrorists'.
