Treehouse Lodge in the Peruvian Amazon (by Animal Planet)

On the black waters of the Yarapa River sits Treehouse Lodge, an eco-friendly stay designed to give its guests the best views of the rain forest and its native animal life. Ten bungalows are set high on the top of trees and are connected by steel cable bridges. The lodge’s location at the confluence of the Yarapa and Cumaceba Rivers close to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve provides with unparalleled access to Amazon wildlife. From Iquitos, the journey to the lodge – first by car, then by boat – takes approximately 2 ½ hours. The boat ride begins on the Maranon River, crosses the Amazon River, and continues up the Ucayali River before connecting to the Yarapa River.
