On the black waters of the Yarapa River sits Treehouse Lodge, an eco-friendly stay designed to give its guests the best views of the rain forest and its native animal life. Ten bungalows are set high on the top of trees and are connected by steel cable bridges. The lodge’s location at the confluence of the Yarapa and Cumaceba Rivers close to Pacaya Samiria National Reserve provides with unparalleled access to Amazon wildlife. Transportation to/from the lodge, meals, bottled water and juice and a-la-carte excursions are included in the all-inclusive rate. Every bungalow is equipped with showers, sinks and toilets. Mosquito nets protect every bed and every bungalow. It is worth knowing that, consistent with the property's eco-friendliness, showers feature only cool water. With some luck you may see five different species of monkeys, pink and gray dolphins, sloths, macaws, parrots, and parakeets. From Iquitos, the journey to the lodge – first by car, then by boat – takes approximately 2 ½ hours. The boat ride begins on the Maranon River, crosses the Amazon River, and continues up the Ucayali River before connecting to the Yarapa River.
