After one year of "resting" (not taking lessons), I started training with Coach Li of Ping Pong Dojo again. This is the first session, in which I reviewed the basics with Coach Li: forehand counter, forehand loop against underspin, backhand counter, and backhand loop against underspin. In this video, Coach Li points out a number of flaws in my techniques: (1) In forehand looping against underspin, my timing is a bit too late; (2) In backhand counter, my paddle is too far away from my body. In general, Coach Li advises me to pay attention to the "friction" (摩擦) in order to generate more spin -- i.e. I am hitting the ball too much.
