They are working to ensure information flows, consumer protection, authentication of electronic transactions, and fair customs duties in the environment. The key indicator for whether the United States will be economically engaged in the Asia Pacific region this year will be the completion of the TPP. Leadership on trade and the economic aspect of United States involvement in the region has never been more important. CSIS is committed to exploring and promoting the policy dynamic surrounding these issues through the continuation of its 2012 TPP Initiative.
