Back in the day, there were some less high tech toys that probably could have harmed them in some way. It seems to get harder and hard to come up with something that’s safe.

5. Easy Bake Oven Recall
Whoever thought making an oven for kids was just an idiot in the first place. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall in 2007, for the easy bake oven and recommended that all parents, take this product from their kids immediately. Kids would get their hands or fingers caught inside the oven’s opening, which more often than not, resulted in burns. It was capable of reaching temperatures of 375 degrees fahrenheit. More than 249 people reported this happening, including 77 serious burns! One girl, aged 5 had to have part of her finger cut off due to the wounds. While the product is recommended for kids aged 8 and up, it was causing too much problems.
4. Sky Dancers
Many girls out there when they’re young might grow up wanting to be a butterfly ballerina kinda like this next toy which is banned in the US. This flying helicopter princess could spin at high speeds and get would get launched by a propellor system after a string was pulled. If the little brothers are ever bothering they’re older sisters, the girls might have these in their arsenal which could do a little more damage. Ultimately 9 million of the sky dancers were recalled but that liftoff was something no one will forget. Some parent report their kids getting lacerations on their face from getting a little bit too close to the action.
3. Cannibal Cabbage Patch Doll
Officially known as the snacktime kid, this doll was programmed to eat fake food but that’s not the only thing it was trying to eat! It came out in 1997 as the new hot toy for christmas but it’s appetite never seemed fully satisfied. The dolls were even made with teeth and many kids noticed quite quickly that it seemingly had some powerful jaws as well. Kids would sometimes stick their tongue out at the toy, only to get it bit by the savage cabbage patch doll. The only safe thing to do at this time, seemed to be hiding yo kids. Remember, this doll can’t tell the difference between a plastic french fry and your kid’s finger. The toy was recalled and after a few lawsuits, it became banned in the usa.
2. Gilbert Glass Blowing Set
From the people who brought you the radioactive playset, here is the gilbert glass blowing set! Everyone is worried about their kids getting hurt these days but the tough kids had some cool playsets back in the 1920’s. What could possibly go wrong if you bought your kid a glass blowing set! I mean, it’s just full of toxic materials that could potentially explode at any moment. It’s never too early to teach your kid the extremely useful skill of glassblowing right? Here you would just put some glass tubes over some flames and then you can mold the glass as you desire.
1.Nestle Magic Ball
Very similar to the Kinder surprise chocolate ball which contained a toy, the nestle magic ball got recalled for the same reasons. You might have remember getting this nestle chocolate ball being excited to get a toy, but others might have been a little more excited for the chocolate instead. Usually the toy was disney related and in this photo we see them selling one from the hercules movie. They proved to be big choking hazards and the FDA notified that toys in chocolate are not allowed. Eventually they were forced to take them off of shelves despite them still being illegally smuggled during this time. Is there black market out there for toys that are not allowed in the US? Maybe.
