In this episode of Repair and Replace, Vance shows how to replace the backup battery in a TOTO EcoPower flush valve. This applies to both commercial toilets (water closets) and urinals. The EcoPower uses a built in hydro-electric generator to power the system. The backup battery provides supplementary power during periods of low use, such as the weekend. Since the flushometer needs to be flushed to generate power, a dead battery might prevent the valve from flushing during inactivity.
