TMC to skip inauguration of Kolkata East-West Metro

Trinamool Congress govt has decided to skip the inauguration of the East-West Metro corridor in Kolkata, to protest against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not being given an invitation for the event. Senior TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and MLA Sujit Bose will not be attending the programme along with TMC MLAs. The first phase of the East-West Metro corridor connecting Sector V with Salt Lake Stadium in the city will be inaugurated by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. The Trinamool claims the East-West Metro corridor project was brainchild of Mamata Banerjee during her tenure as Railway minister, and it was she who had sanctioned the money in Railway budget. The party claims not inviting her is an insult to the people of Bengal.
