The George Washington University's Virginia Science and Technology Campus (VSTC), in partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), hosted its fifth annual "Science, Technology and Engineering Day." More than 150 LCPS high school students and their teachers invaded the state-of-the-art campus to learn more about opportunities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Titanic discoverer and founder of The JASON Project, Robert Ballard, offered the lunchtime keynote on the fun and mystery of science education. "This event provides students hands-on experience with emerging innovations in science, technology and engineering, and exposes them to the excitement these fields offer," said Craig Linebaugh, chief academic operating officer Virginia Science and Technology Campus. "I am especially pleased that Dr. Ballard and The JASON Project are able to join us this year and provide a real-world context to the day's lessons. This event is a great way to learn."
