Thondaman kotta is 41 KM from Munnar and 22 KM from Nedumkandam, Idukki, Kerala. It borders with Tamil Nadu. Also called as Thevaram Hills. It is near to Chathuranga para. Legend behind the name is associated with Tamil Nadu ruler Thondaman, who have hidden all his treasures in this hill from his enemies. Many people searched for this treasuresl, but none of them got it. Next to this hill is Al Neutrino hills (Neutrino based observatory) are located. Trek to the top is easy to moderate ~7 KM. There will be elephants and it's easy to get lost as there are many paths inside the forest. So always venture with an experienced guide.
