Thomas Page McBee dicusses his memoir, Man Alive, with Stephen Elliott, Founding Editor of The Rumpus.
Thomas Page McBee, author of the Rumpus' "Self-Made Man" column, presents his memoir, Man Alive. Examining the nature of manhood through two encounters that shaped his --his abusive father and the mugger who threatened his life--Thomas tries to understand these two deeply flawed men as he works out his identity. An examination of personal histories, and the ways in which we all work to create our identities, Man Alive has been praised by Roxane Gay and Heidi Julavits.
Thomas is joined for the evening by Stephen Elliott, founding editor of the The Rumpus and author of Happy Baby.
