In the Chinese zodiac, Feb. 10, 2013-Jan. 30, 2014, is the Year of the Snake. The ancient Chinese believed people inherited the traits of the animal that ruled the year they were born. They believed snakes to be smart, charming and introverted. Snakes are often misunderstood creatures. They spend most of their time hiding, and they would rather flee than fight. They also help the environment by controling pest populations.
