The Todra Gorge has dramatic cliffs that rise vertically and leaves just a narrow pass. It was formed as the result of a fault in the plateau which separates the High Atlas from the Jebel Saghro. A river flows through it creating lush palmeries that line the banks with fertile fields.
The focus of today's trip was an optional moderate hike to a viewpoint for panoramas for those who were so inclined. The rest of us had the option to walk along the river or sit and read in one of the coffee shops/restaurants in the gorge. Stunning mountings and very Petra-like with the sahdes of ochre, oranges and red. The Todra Gorge is also a big tourist site for those who just want to visit, ooh...and ahh....
