The Long Dark Update - New Region!

Hello and welcome fans of The Long Dark! In this video, I share the good news that many of us long to hear: A new update is RIGHT around the corner. Raphael, creative director at Hinterland Studios has confirmed in a new dev diary that an update is coming in late May to early June. I'll be breaking down what's included and what will make it into this update, and what won't. The most impressive things to look forward to will be the new region, tentatively named River Valley. Also coming is the first pass at a new cooking system to push cooking into the real-time gamespace instead of the accelerated-time menu system. Improved cooking may be loved by all or become a divisive addition; only time will tell. Also landing with this update will be Buffer Memories, stories and scraps of knowledge left behind by those who have gone away. While most likely not coming in this update, there is talk of adding a new weapon, called the Bear Spear. Its just a tease for now, but expect a new method for countering bears and wolves and various ways to hunt.
