Jesus Said: "John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me." Here is the scripture in the Old Testament that Christ was referring to where Moses "spoke of" (Prophesied) The Coming of Christ, and the nature of Christ. It is found in the book of Deuteronomy. The Book of Deuteronomy is Moses' last words to the Children of Israel. The Book was written and Moses spoke these words when he was 120 years old and he was about to die. It is Moses' last words. Here is the scripture: "Deuteronomy 18:15-19 - 15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee A PROPHET [Christ] from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; 16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. 17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. 18 I will raise them up A PROPHET [Christ] from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him." Peter Confirmed Moses' words in Deuteronomy 18:15-19, Here in: "Acts 3:20-24 - 20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet[Christ] shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet[Christ], shall be destroyed from among the people. 24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days." Jesus Christ directly fulfilled the scriptures of Deuteronomy 18:15-19 in Matthew chapters 5,6, and 7 (what we now commonly refer to as "The Sermon on the Mount" or "The Beatitudes") where he explicitly gave the New / SECOND Covenant to us. Jesus Christ Fulfilled the scripture here the same way The Father God did; "on top of a mountain" when The Father God Spoke the FIRST Ten Commandments (of the OLD covenant) unto the people. Jesus didn't do it with Fire and smoke, and terror like Jehovah God the Father did the first time, when he gave the first covenant (See Hebrews Ch 12), but with love and meekness. And Rather than start out with 10 commandments he started out with 10 blessings (note Matt. Ch 5 first 12 verses. (contrast this to the FIRST 10 commandments) (there were approximately 490 to 613 commandments in the First Covenant (The Old Testament) which was only between God and the Nation of Israel...Jehovah only verbally spoke the first 10 to Israel [Exodus 20:18-22] the rest he spoke to Directly to Moses alone, to give to them, fulfilling their request. [Exodus 21:1 -- 24:3 & book of Leviticus]) Jesus goes on to speak of his current sayings/commandments as greater than the first old Levitical Law....He says, "Ye have heard that it has been said"..."Thou shalt not Kill..." "Ye have heard." (Mat. 5:21-48) ....of course they heard, it is one of the core of the TEN commandments...but he said "BUT I SAY UNTO YOU" (Mat. 5:21-48). He is raising the bar to "Don't look", "Don't think", "Don't say"... Having fulfilled the Ten commandments and the other 400 to 600 commandment (by his very coming, Life, Words, and ultimate sacrifice(God dying for his Creation)) He Bought us believers to Himself and he Raised the Bar and moved everything from the "external" to the "internal". From Observable, to "Matters of the Heart" and he promised to Judge us (John 12:48, Romans 2:3-13, 2 Cor. 5:10)
