The Iron Bowl moment that almost made Nick Saban cry happened before the game even started. Prior to the game, each of Alabama's seniors was recognized individually as part of Senior Day. Walk-on running back Lawrence Erekosima's mother, who is in the Army and is currently stationed in Kuwait, ran out onto the field and surprised her son as he was being recognized. They shared a long, emotional hug. Erekosima's mother had been in Kuwait since February, and he wasn't expecting her to be back home until next year. She was allowed to come home to be with her son at Senior Day. "For his mother to be able to come today, it almost made me cry," Saban said.
