The escalators were a fantastic band formed by Nigel Lewis and Mark Robertson in 1982 who were original members of legendary London 'Psychobilly' band The M3t3ors.Along with Woodie and Bart Coles-who sang vocals on this track- they went on to record 3 top quality singles(of which The Edge was the b-side to Somethings Missing) and a brilliant album 'Moving Staircases' before Nigel and Mark went on to form The Tall Boys.Like The M3t3ors before them the escalators featured two different vocalists which was like having two bands in one.Moving Staircases has recently been released on CD for the first time-due to public demand by Big Beat.Due to a serious back injury to Nigel the band wernt able to establish themselves as much as they should have.After just a year Bart left & the band changed their name to TALL BOYS & released several top quality recordings.In the years that followed Nigel & Mark played in various bands before Mark retired to France where he is a succesful wine maker!!! Nigel is currently recording & touring as NIGEL LEWIS & THE ZORCHMEN,you can find their page on myspace & facebook...Nigels output since The M3t3ors has been awesome....shame it wasnt him that kept The M3t3ors name.
