So many of you have asked me to pair the new GTX 1050 Ti with the almost decade old Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU to see how they would perform. To be honest, this is one of the best uses for this new budget graphics card as I'm sure it will be used to revive a lot of old and unused PC's over the next couple of years. With a 300w recommend power supply and just 75w of usage, you can pretty much stick the 1050 Ti in anything with a half decent processor and you'll be able to enjoy even the most demanding of titles with fairly respectable frame rates. So let's see how it performs with a few games! We'll also be taking a look at how these results compare to the performance of this card when paired with the i3 4150 used in yesterdays tests, and what results you can expect should you overclock this classic quad core to 3 GHz. Test System: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz / 3GHz / ( i3 4150 for comparison ) MSI G41M-S03 Socket 775 Motherboard / ( MSI H81M-P33 ) 8GB DDR3 Ram Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB 500w PSU (This card only requires 300w with no 6 pin) Windows 10 Pro Games Tested: Fallout 4 Grand Theft Auto V Battlefield 1 Rise of the Tomb Raider Gameplay during discussion: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Thanks for watching :)
