Try throwing upward at a 60 degree angle. READ THE ANNOTATIONS (they don't appear on iPhone/iPad) and follow the directions at the end -- add slight outward/inward angles when folding the wings and the winglets. Use 8.5x11" letter paper. If you use A4 paper, cut the end by 25 mm so that the paper is 210x272 mm.

By the way, I "re-invented" this in 1984, but internet comments date it back to at least 1946.
