Emma Resmini, flutist, (age 10 at this recording), has been called a "bright young prodigy" by the New York Times, and has been recognized by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for her "dazzling technique". In December 2009, at the invitation of conductor/composer Marvin Hamlisch, Emma performed four concerts with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center , and five concerts with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at Heinz Hall. In March 2010, Emma performed the Vivaldi Flute Concerto "Il Cardellino" with the McLean Orchestra under conductor Sylvia Alimena. Emma was featured on the National Public Radio (NPR) program From the Top, performing the Chaminade Concertino with host Christopher O'Reilly (September 2009). She has also been featured on the NPR program All Things Considered (August 2009). Emma was an invited performer at the 2009 National Flute Association Convention in New York City , including a duo with noted flutist Carol Wincenc. She also performed with Ms. Wincenc at the Jay Sharp Theater of the Juilliard School in March 2010. Emma was a featured performer at the Mid-Atlantic Flute Fair in February 2010. In addition, Emma will appear as a featured soloist in the music education film Juilliard Discoveries, a production of Cornucopia Arts. Emma's flute studies began at age three using the Suzuki Method. At seven (and without front teeth), she made her solo debut with orchestra performing the Carmen Fantasy by Francois Borne with the George Mason University Orchestra. Emma was featured in an article in Pan -- the Journal of the British Flute Society in March 2008. The Powell Flute Company has named Emma a Sonare Winds Artist.
