The sequencer is pretty cool, but I'm not a surgical sequencer kind of guy. I wish it had more user-definable scales, and that when you use the scales and are entering pitches in CV step sequencer mode (not live play mode) that you didn't have to scroll through all the non-scale notes. I just want to wail on the encoder and have only the scale tones be visible. I understand that it quantizes to the scale after those pitches, but I just want a child-proof mode to make step sequencing quicker and less thinky. To make this piece, I used different scales and played the parts in using Live Record—or whatever it's called—where the buttons become keyboard keys. Then I adjusted probability on every single parameter... and then clocked the whole thing with a Euclidean rhythm. So yeah, it's pretty great how much probability can be applied to everything... and then of course the fact that you can save and recall it all so easily is pretty powerful. But still, I won't be leaving my Monome and Marbles zone any time soon.
