I put the Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2 vs the Canon 24-70 2.8 II head on. This is a popular request as Tamron's newest 24-70 is in high demand. A key point on paper is the price difference; the Canon runs around $1,750 USD and the Tamron G2 $1,200 USD. But is the extra $500 worth it? Tamron does have one huge offering over the Canon beat, the VC, Vibration Control noted to 5 stops. It also is built a bit heavier as well.
