Welcome to Atop the Fourth Wall, where bad comics burn. In this episode, Linkara reviews a Frank Miller comic meant to offend! ...or be funny? It's hard to tell... http://atopthefourthwall.com Originally uploaded August 5th, 2013. ORIGINAL INFO: If Tales fail to offend within 30 days, you may return Tales to manufacturer for a full refund. RUMINATIONS: Tales to Offend truly is an oddity of pointlessness. I don’t doubt that it’s meant to be satire, just a general parody of do-gooder space heroes or the like, but was anybody really asking for this kind of thing? I get the impression this was meant just so Frank could get a paycheck that week, especially since he had to reuse a Sin City story within it. Hell, what’s funny is that the Sin City comic actually DOES feel more like an homage to a gritty crime anthology comic that’s short with a twist ending. It certainly is better than “Lance Blastoff lobotomizing aliens and hanging around sexbots” as if it’s supposed to mean something.
