Take care with canary bands or rings - amputation not impossible The canary in this video suffered an infection due to a breeder placing a band or ring on a leg (above the claw) that was either too tight or caused an infection for some other reason. To save the canary's life, the foot had to be amputated by a veterinary surgeon. The canary was then unwanted because of his disability and was rehomed.
