The American Red Cross Motor Service will turn over full responsibility of the motor program to the Transportation Association of Greenwich (TAG). "The program itself gets Greenwich residents to medical appointments and we've provided at least 55,000 rides every year," said Mary Young, CEO of Metro New York North Chapter of the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is leaving motor services nationally, but for the riders, there will be no visible change once the partnership takes effect July 1st. There will still be the same volunteer drivers and the same vehicles, but the financial responsibility will shift to TAG and there is a new estimated fare of around $3.00 per ride. "It's still probably going to be called the motor service, and it's going to be the same drivers, the same vehicle, there is probably going to be a small fare instead of being a free service now, but we are going to do everything we can to keep that fare as low as possible," said Jim Boutelle, Executive Director of the Transportation Association of Greenwich. Any resident is eligible to use the program. Produced By: Sarah Michler
