Tableau in Two Minutes - Dimensions vs Measures and Discrete vs Continuous

In this video we focus on the difference between dimensions and measures and the difference between discrete and continuous variables. Understanding these will help make both dashboard building and ad-hoc analysis much easier. We'll demonstrate how you can convert a dimension to a measure using the count function, and you'll see how it's behavior changes when it's used as a measure rather than used as a dimension. It's worth noting that dimensions are often discrete, but they don't have to be - In the video there's an example using quarters and years to show how a dimension behaves when it's set to be discrete and how that differs when it's set to continuous.
