T-90 - the main battle tank of the Russian Army, created on the basis of the T-72.
T-90 is equipped with a powerful 1,000-horsepower diesel engine, allowing speeds up to 60 km per hour. The tank can overcome water obstacles up to 5 meters depth, trench width of 2.8 m, a vertical wall - 0.9 m tall. Weight - 46.5 tons, less than that of its main foreign competitors. In this case, the tank is the most "undersized", making it unobtrusive and more survivable on the battlefield compared to foreign counterparts.
The tank is a 125-mm smoothbore stabilized in two planes gun equipped automatic loader.
One of the most important features of the tank - the ability to shoot guided missiles. To do this, the machine is set set of guided missile "Reflex". As a subsidiary of weapons - mounted coaxial machine gun 7.62 mm anti-aircraft machine gun mount 12.7 mm.
Currently, the T-90 is a deep modernization which purpose will be to enhance the combat capabilities of the machine. For example, it will be installed French thermal imaging cameras "Catherine-FC», as well as a satellite navigation system will appear. Combat vehicle will be integrated into a single automated system tactical control.
To date, the troops about 200 cars T-90.
The T-90 is a Russian third-generation main battle tank that is a modernisation of the T-72 (it was originally to be called the T-72BU, later renamed to T-90). It is currently the most modern tank in service with the Russian Ground Forces and Naval Infantry. Although a development of the T-72, the T-90 uses a 125mm 2A46 smoothbore tank gun, 1G46 gunner sights, a new engine, and thermal sights. Standard protective measures include a blend of steel, composite armour, and Kontakt-5 explosive-reactive armor, laser warning receivers, Nakidka camouflage and the Shtora infrared ATGM jamming system. The EMT-7 electromagnetic pulse (EMP) creator is used in testing but not fitted to T-90s in active service.[3] It is designed and built by Uralvagonzavod, in Nizhny Tagil, Russia. From 2011, the Russian armed forces have ceased ordering the T-90, and are instead waiting for the development of the Universal Combat Platform T-99 that is expected to enter service in 2020.
