M.) im obersten Abschnitt der Talschaft La Gruyère, dem Haut-Intyamon auf freiburgischem Kantonsgebiet fliesst die Sarine (dt. Saane). Das Dorf ist der Fusspunkt der Montreux-Berner Oberland-Bahn, die von Les Cases (1'111 m ü. M.) herunterkommend das Pays-d'Enhaut hinauf ins Berner Saanenland und ins Simmental fährt. Im Westen verkehren die Züge im Tunnel unter dem Col de Jaman (1'512 m ü. M.) auf Waadtländer Kantonsgebiet nach Montreux (396 m ü. M.) am Lac Léman (dt. Genfersee). Der Sarine entlang weht gelegentlich ein rauer Südwind, der «Ruhlyio». Tritt dieser in den Morgenstunden auf, kündigt er schönes Wetter an, im Gegensatz zum «Ventee de Lys», der Regen bringt. Montbovon (797 m above sea level) lies in the upper district of La Gruyère, the Haut-Intyamon, on the territory of the canton of Fribourg, and is traversed by the river Saane (French: La Sarine). The village is the base point of the Montreux-Bernese Oberland Railway, running down from Les Cases (1,111 m above sea level) before it climbs the mountain section up the Pays-d'Enhaut into the Bernese Saanenland and the Simmental valley. Towards the west, the railway runs below the Col de Jaman (1,512 m above sea level) on Vaud territory, down to Montreux (396 m above sea level) at Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). A bleak wind, the «Ruhlyio», blows along the Saane from time to time. If it blows in the morning, it forecasts good weather; the «Ventee de Lys», on the contrary, brings rainy weather to the region.
