This is the documentary I made for my Introduction to Film Production class Spring 2014 semester at UW-Madison. My doc partner and I chose to do our project on a volunteer-operated homeless-cooperative newspaper here in Madison, Wisconsin. The newspaper is filled with articles, poetry, references for the homeless population, and all of it is produced by volunteers and sold on the streets by homeless vendors. The paper is $1 each and 75 cents of that dollar goes directly back to your vendor. The stories I was privileged enough to hear while filming this documentary were incredible and life-changing. There is so much to learn from these people that sell the Street Pulse papers on State Street, yet most people walk right by as if they weren't even there.
