Stems Vs. Tracks - What's The Difference?

This has created a lot of confusion for studio owners when it comes time to properly prep files for collaboration. We live in a time where there's a lot of collaboration going on and usually across multiple DAWs. This requires the proper preparation of standard .WAV or .AIFF files.
