Starry Night Box

Thank you to Rockler Woodworking and Hardware for making this project, and so many others possible! This box is made out of walnut with brass inlay in the top. The sides are joined together with hand cut dovetails and the top and bottom are held in place with interlocking grooves. The top is especially clever, if I do say so, since it leaves room for wood movement but looks like a nice big fat piece of wood. I haven't seen this style of lid before. The brass inlay design was based loosely off on galaxy NGC 869. No special reason for that particular galaxy, I just liked the look of it.
