Standing with workers at T-Mobile

On March 22, T-Mobile announced a surprising plan to close seven major call centers within the United States, affecting the livelihood of 3,300 families. This decision will harm T-Mobile employees, customers and local communities. It is also an affront to the American taxpayers who gave the company significant economic incentives in order to create jobs in cities across America. Instead of off-shoring thousands of customer service jobs out of the United States as T-Mobile has done, it ought to recognize the sizeable investment that American workers and the American taxpayer has made to its bottom line. According to the Communications Workers of America, T-Mobile has taken $14.2 million in taxpayer subsidies from four of the seven communities where it plans to shutter operations.
