Over 300 members of staff at St. Mary's hospital in Langata downed their tools to protest Tuesday's court decision convicting two of the hospital's directors Dr Marangu Rucha and Walter Konya to serve two months in a civil jail for contempt of court. The directive issued by the Industrial Court was to have the hospital's former Director reinstated and nuns who had been laid off last year, resume working at the hospital. The doctors and nurses who were protesting within the hospital's compound disrupted normal operations at the hospital for at least four hours.
