This poem was written as a wake up call. The nonchalant use of the word rape has become far to accepted. This is also my spoken tribute to my friend Morgan Harrington who was abducted, raped, and killed outside of a Metallica concert. It is my hope that by continuing to share this poem the rightful connotation of the word rape can be restored and the indifference around the use of a word which describes such a disrespectful act can be ripped away. There is power and impact in the words we choose. 2.4.1.
