Spain: Protesting firefighters threaten to strike if demands not met

Hundreds of firefighters rallied through the streets of Madrid, Tuesday, to demand better working conditions. The emergency personnel marched through the streets holding banners calling for improvements to their working conditions, while whistling and blowing horns, and holding balloons. The firefighters protested understaffing and their being forced to work overtime. "There are firefighters who are working 50 percent more during their annual work [period]," said Daniel Delgado, a firefighters union spokesperson, adding that they may go on strike if their demands are not met.
